Rocabar
for
Men
by
Hermès
Year introduced: 1998
Michael Edwards's Family Classification: Woody Aromatic
Description: The long history of the house of Hermès began in 1837 when Thierry Hermès moved to Paris and started a saddler's. Rocabar pays a tribute to this traditional art. A strong and majestic perfume, it takes us back to the far-of age of chivalry. A lively and warm perfume, evoking a horse blanket. The woody conifer note of fir, cedar and cypress followed by warm notes of vanilla and resin remind us of a horseback ride in the forest. The fragrance of Rocabar is built like a tree, starting with a top note of leaves, followed by the woody note of the trunk, and finally by the earthy note of the roots. This is why Rocabar is qualified as "powerful as a tree emerging from the earth and reaching up to the sky."
Top notes: Bergamot, lemon, coriander, juniper berry, cedar flower
Heart notes: Cardamom, violet, carnation, Italian cypress, cedar
Base notes: Patchouli, benzoin, vanilla, moss, Canadian balsam
