Insolence
for
Women
by
Guerlain
Year introduced: 2006
Michael Edwards's Family Classification: Fruity Floral
Description: Insolence is the sparkle in the eye of a care-free spirit; a fearless smile, a silence that expresses many thoughts. It is a casual grace, an ironic elegance. A perfume that may well surprise hard-core fans of Guerlain, whose goal here was to make a sharp, modern, youthful fragrance. Maurice Roucel, who designed L’Instant, dreamt up an ‘over-dosed, over-excited violet’ reinforced with red berries and iris. The bottle, created by Serge Mansau, is a dizzying stack of half spheres.
Top notes: Violet, raspberry pulp, mixed berries, lemon, bergamot
Heart notes: Violet, rose, orange blossom
Base notes: Iris, tonka bean, musk, sandalwood, resins
